For step-by-step guidance see this video tutorial.
Understanding the Data Structure
Cybersyn Data Products are built around two concepts: entities and timeseries.
- Entities are concrete things or objects (a geography, a company, a mortgage application).
- Timeseries are abstract measures (ie. statistics) related to an entity and a date.
Key Metrics & Definitions
The timeseries tables are central to the data product. Below are key ways to break down and interpret the data:
- Consumer Location: The geographic region where the consumer is from.
- Merchant Location: The location of the merchant where the transaction occurred.
- Channel: The medium used for the transaction (e.g., online, offline).
- Age Demographic: Specific age bracket of the consumer.
- Income Demographic: Specific income bracket of the consumer.
- Metric/Measure: The financial or quantitative measure being tracked (e.g., sales, transactions).
- Frequency of the Measure: How often the measure is calculated (e.g., weekly, monthly).
Year-over-year Defintitions:
- Sales/Revenue YoY: Year-over-year change in total sales value (USD) for a given period.
- Transactions YoY: Year-over-year change in the number of sales transactions. Each purchase counts as a transaction.
- AOV YoY (Average Order Value): Year-over-year change in average order value (USD). Calculated as Sales / Transactions. AOV refers to the typical amount spent in a single purchase.
- Customers YoY: Year-over-year change in the total number of customers for a given period.
